As summer quickly approaches and my semester draws to an end – my mind is already switching to the endless possibilities for my four months off from school.
At some point, college students need to accept the reality that summers are no longer “break time” and adulthood sets in. This will be the last summer I can take off of school and allow myself some time to enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
I’m pretty convinced that this is going to be a great summer. I’ve even made a list of my hopes for summer 2012:
Work on novel. I started writing a novel years ago. A journal-style story about a recent high school graduate dealing with life after her mother passes away.
Family vacations. I am very fortunate to have not one – but three family camping trips planned. Additionally, my boyfriend and I will be traveling to St. Joseph during the Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff, which features 216 national artists and attracts 75,000 people annually.
I am excited to spend so much time with my family this summer, especially my 16-month-old niece, Addison. She is the happiest, cutest baby in the entire world.
Get everything in order for my breathingmoment line. After making jewelry for years, I have finally decided to get serious about it. I have been so fortunate to become a Whimsy artist already. When I’m not working, on vacation or at art fairs – I plan to dedicate myself to making jewelry, photographing everything, creating a display for craft shows, and completing my website and etsy.
Jewelry has been a passion of mine for so long. It has already been a wonderful experience selling my pieces. Thank you for all of the support thus far!
The older I get, the more time flies. I cannot wait to enjoy this summer, but I know it will go more quickly than I’d like.
Do you have any exciting summer plans? Going to an art fair? Family vacation? I’d love to hear about it!
