I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day! This weather is perfect for the outside festivities!
This holiday weekend has been especially lovely for me this year. My niece is 16 months old, which means I now have an excuse to act like a kid again.
On Friday we went to Catalpa Oaks for a marshmallow drop. It was great for little kids because you only needed to collect a single marshmallow to earn a gift bag. I can’t wait until Addison is older so she can participate in an Easter Egg dash, but this was pretty neat to see.
The helicopter drops marshmallows three different times – one time for each age group. Then the kids turn in their marshmallows for a bag of goodies. The coolest part of the goodie bag was a free entry pass to the water park!
The marshmallow drop was a lot of fun. The volunteers did a great job keeping things organized and chaos-free. Addison had a lot of fun.
Today my sister and I dyed Easter eggs. We quickly realized that we were much better at this egg-dying business in our younger years. It really was a process of trial and error.
Apparently, your crayon selection needs to be well thought out. Don’t cheap out! Crayola is the way to go. Dipping your eggs more than once is definitely a good idea for more vibrant color and to help with the crayon’s appearance. Stickers aren’t such a good idea because they don’t sit correctly on the rounded egg.
In the end, we managed to get some cute eggs.
Now I’m off to the in-laws. Then back to my family’s for Easter dinner. Have a safe and happy Easter!
